Unlike traditional printed tablecloths and table throws, fitted table covers are bespoke made to fit the exact dimensions of your table. Fitted tablecloth covers are made from five pieces of fabric, including the top and sides, which are sewn together to create a box-shaped cover that sits neatly over the table.
Because each face of the cover is flat, your printed design can be positioned clearly on the front, sides, rear and top without pleats or creases disrupting the finished appearance.
What Is A Fitted Printed Table Cover And How Does It Differ From A Table Throw?
Fitted table covers differ from the most common type of printed tablecloths we produce, which are sometimes referred to as table throws.
Rather than being a flat sheet of fabric that is draped over the table, fitted table covers are made from five separate faces of material that are sewn together to create a three-dimensional box shape that fits over the table.
With a standard tablecloth, the fabric naturally pleats or gathers at the corners, which can make printed content more difficult to read. With a fitted table cover, each face of the cover is flat, helping logos, branding, text and graphics appear cleaner and more professional.
This makes fitted printed table covers ideal for exhibitions, trade shows, product demonstrations, reception desks, retail displays and promotional events where a neat, tailored finish is important.
Setting Up Artwork For A Fitted Printed Table Cover
Typically, the artwork for a fitted printed table cover looks something like this. The central section of the artwork fits onto the top of the table, whilst the side, front and rear panels are folded and sewn together to create the finished cover.
Because every table is different, all of our fitted table covers are made to measure. Simply enter the width, depth and height of your table into our website, together with the quantity required, and the price will be calculated automatically.
Once your order has been placed, we will create a bespoke artwork template based on the table dimensions you have supplied. This template will be emailed to you as a PDF file and can be used to position your artwork correctly.
If you are supplying your own artwork, it should be returned to us as a print-ready file set up to the template we provide. Print-ready artwork should include all logos, images, colours and text already positioned exactly as you would like them to appear on the finished table cover.
If you are unable to provide print-ready artwork, we can usually set the artwork up for you using your logo, colours, images and instructions. Artwork setup is charged separately and typically costs £20 + VAT. Please contact us if you would like a quotation for artwork setup.
Please note: supplying a logo and design instructions does not constitute print-ready artwork. If we are required to create, amend or lay out artwork on your behalf, artwork setup charges may apply.
Once we receive your artwork, we will check it and send a proof for approval before production begins.
Optional Knee Hole
The reverse of a fitted table cover can be solid like the front, or we can cut out an aperture in the fabric at the back so that it is open. We call this an optional knee hole.
A knee hole is useful if you wish to pull up chairs behind the table, or if you want easy access to the space underneath the table for storage during an event.
Please note that a knee hole is a cut-out aperture in the rear of the cover. It is not a zipped opening. We do not normally include zips in this type of fitted table cover.
We will create the artwork template for your table with or without the cut-out knee hole depending on the option you select when ordering.
How To Measure Your Table For A Printed Fitted Table Cover
Take a measurement of the width of the table top from left to right when standing in front of the table.
Take a measurement of the depth of the table top from front to back.
Take a height measurement from the top of the table to the floor.
Make sure that the legs of your table do not stand outside the footprint of the table top. If the legs extend beyond the table top, a fitted printed table cover may not be suitable.

We will normally size fitted table covers so that they finish a few centimetres above the floor. If you require a larger gap between the bottom of the cover and the floor, please contact us after ordering to discuss your requirements.
Fitted Printed Table Covers FAQs
What material is used to print fitted table covers? We print onto a 220gsm soft touch display fabric.
Can I wash a printed fitted table cover? Yes, you can wash them at up to 40 degrees C in a conventional machine with detergent. Air dry only after washing.
What is the production time for printed fitted table covers? Production is normally one week as standard, plus transit/shipping time. We can also usually rush produce in around three working days.
Do I need to provide print-ready artwork? Yes. After ordering, we will provide an artwork template based on your table dimensions. If you cannot provide print-ready artwork, we can usually set the artwork up for you for an additional charge.
Can you make fitted covers for other shapes of table? Yes, we can make covers to fit round tables, oval tables and other table shapes on request. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Can you include a zipped opening? We do not normally include zips in this type of fitted table cover. If you select the knee hole option, the rear of the cover will include an open cut-out aperture rather than a zip.
