The backpack hardware is designed as a flexible display platform rather than a single-purpose flag harness. The same underlying system can support teardrop, feather and rectangular flag graphics, as well as an X-banner configuration using the alternative support poles supplied with the hardware.
The shorter sectional poles assemble to create the flexible flag pole used for the teardrop, feather and rectangular flag configurations. These connect to the upright mounting point on the backpack's central hub.
The four longer hooked poles are only required when the backpack is configured as an X-banner. They aren't needed for normal use of this teardrop flag version, but they give you the option to convert the backpack into an X-banner display in the future by ordering the appropriate printed graphic separately.
The multi-purpose central hub positioned on the rear of the backpack allows the same hardware to accept several different display formats.
For the teardrop flag supplied with this product, the sectional flag pole locates into the vertical socket at the top of the hub.
The same upright mounting point is used for feather and rectangular flags, while the four angled sockets surrounding the centre are used with the longer support poles when the system is configured as an X-banner.

Although the backpack hardware can support several different display configurations, the printed graphic included with this product is the teardrop flag shown on this page.
Feather, rectangular and X-banner versions of the same backpack display system are available separately.
The sectional flag pole used with the teardrop flag breaks down into shorter components for easy transport and storage. When the backpack is used with a teardrop, feather or rectangular flag, all of the pole sections can be packed away inside the backpack itself.
This means there is no separate pole bag to carry during normal use of the teardrop flag. The backpack, sectional pole and printed graphic form a compact package that's easy to take between events and promotional locations.
The four longer poles shown alongside the separate tube bag are only needed if the backpack is converted to the X-banner format. They are redundant for normal teardrop flag use.
If your promotional requirements change later, you can order a compatible X-banner print separately and use those longer poles with the same backpack and central hub.
